Crafting a Digital Narrative for Ukraine's Past, Present, and Future

With the initial draft versions of the Kyiv Rysing presentation, our Web & Digital Solutions team embarked on building a digital representation of the project online. Within just a month and a half, we developed a digital concept encompassing colour identity, UI/UX design, and content marketing, addressing questions about Ukraine, drawing from lessons learned from its turbulent Past, the challenges of the Present, and providing an outlook on the Future.

Transforming Iconic Symbols into User Experience

The primary challenge faced by our web development team was to transform the iconic letter 'Y,' representing Kyiv (not Kiev), into a navigational tool through the Past, Present, and Future. This allowed users to download each chapter separately, enhancing accessibility. We decided to present the letter in the form of a game, with a "start exploring" feature. The 'Y' also symbolises 'yes,' reflecting the positive outlook we aim to convey. On the microsite, we provide answers regarding the perspective and significant potential for the steady development of Ukraine's major domains through charts, iconic objects such as the Mriya aircraft, and more.

November 2022: Top Book Downloads and User Engagement

Being rich in solid facts and reliable data, Kyiv Rysing provides an independent and realistic ‘made in Ukraine’ view, as well as stable, clear, and consistent insights on the current developments in Ukraine and what needs to be done to overcome the consequences of the war and seize unlocked opportunities.

For this reason, our web team had chosen the most interesting facts to highlight on the microsite's home page: achievements, including economic recovery, Ukrainian IT sector, agriculture insights in charts; interesting economic facts about Ukraine; a comprehensive outlook for foreign investors, and others.

The microsite is compatible with all devices, with mobile constituting 71.4% among devices breakpoint, and Google Chrome as the most popular browser among users.
